P!nk Clump Crusher Ad Inspired Tutorial

Hey! It's been a while. On my side, anyway.

So, of course, being on youtube all the time, I see ads a lot. Though, I suppose everyone sees a lot of ads, regardless... But! I saw this ad, and I totally loved the makeup, so I decided to recreate it as best as I could... slight alterations... you know. It kinda looks alienish, or techo-fabulous on me, but I tried. I almost didn't post it, because I filmed basically the whole thing in the wrong white balance (read: OMGIWANTEDTOSHOOTMYSELFINTHEFACEWTF), and I wasn't sure if I even liked the way it turned out on camera, but everything turned out okay, and I stopped being such a wet uh... towel? Is that the saying? Well, whatever they say, that's what I meant.

But yeah, this look was really liner heavy, and um... I feel like I haven't dealt with liquid liner in a long time... But then again, I don't ever really do my makeup at all, outside of making these videos. But liquid liner is the hardest part! But regardless, I did a damn good job on the non-tutorial eye! I surprised my damn self when I was taking out my blemishy face for the pictures. The tutorial eye is another story. We don't talk about them...

Watch, in five years, I'm gonna look back and be like "what in the hells was I thinking..."

Blurry, and slightly weird in color, but it's a cool thumbnail.

Non-boring Swatches:

IN THE LAND OF THE FORGOTTEN... DAMN IT

I felt like my whole body was shaking with tension during the entire liner part. I included all of the liner parts that were in frame, and I just cut out the re-dipping of the eyeliner parts. I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep them, but I thought it was funny because even as I was editing me doing the liner, I was getting so stressed out and anxious again, and it was so ridiculously suspenseful. But then I fast forwarded it, and it wasn't that bad. And I just remembered I have this weird thing with stripes, and not liking them... And this look is totally stripey. The closer pictures don't bother me, but the farther back ones are making my skin crawl.... Yeah....

And I wanted to point out that the layering of steamy and platinum was BEAUTIFUL! It gave such depth and complexity, and I loved it. That is all.

I think I've finally had enough, I think I maybe think too much,

P.S. It's late, and I caught several typos when writing this, so if shit doesn't make sense, that's why.

Murky Swan Lake Tutorial

TOTALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO NAME THIS LOOK...

This was a 'sit down and let it come out' tutorial, so there wasn't really any inspiration for it. It's kind of boring, in my opinion, but at the same time, I think it's pretty. I feel like doing more neutral tutorials is so... awkward, because I could do something more colorful and fun instead. But I know everyone doesn't necessarily like bright and colorful, or are afraid of color, so I'm sure it might be helpful to someone out there. Even writing this now, I feel weird that I'm going to post a video on such a simple look. But anyway, after I was done with the tutorial, I could see the almost swan shape of the eyeshadow, and now every time I look at it, it's all I see. I like it, because when I typically think of swans, I think beautiful, elegant, pure, but then the colors I chose are kind of muddy, and dirty in comparison. I like that contradiction, and I think it's beautiful in itself. Like something that was once beautiful and free, drug through the mud, ripped from their reality, thrown into cold, unfeeling night. Chained to the ground forever... (see what I did there?)

Er, anyway...

But yeah, going along with that, it kinda worked out that the "body" is made of the murkier colors, and the neck and chest are more white, like it's retained its dignity, heart, and mind, holding its head up.

This is getting really sappy. I ain't no novelist, that's for sure.

Summer Bonfire Night Tutorial

For today's tutorial, I wanted to create a contrast of warmth and cool. Though, I guess it would be like sending an army to fight like, Cloud Strife or something, because I just wanted one thing on my face to be cool, which would have been the crease definition. However, with me not thinking ahead and just choosing a random purple obviously was not the smartest thing to do, so my crease didn't end up being cool at all. But I still liked the look, so I decided to just change the theme up a little bit, and let it be more summery. So I added some smokey-ness around my lashes and bam. I've got my bonfire night tutorial! I still want to do something with that temperature contrast in mind, but now I have to change up the color scheme, since obviously I don't want to make a tutorial with just one color slightly different than the original. Even though it could possibly make the world of a difference... I'll think of something else. And I totally went overboard with Fix+ on my face for this video, so my foundation was really dewy, which translated kinda funky on camera. Of course...

Maybelline Sultry Rainbow Tutorial

Todays' tutorial is a recreation of this look from the display ad for Maybelline's ExpertWear eyeshadows, which I saw when I was at CVS yesterday. I was looking for the picture on the internet so I could reference it on here, and I found it in the eyeshadow trios section, even though on the ad I saw, there's a picture of a quad underneath it... so that's kinda weird. And it totally colors look different too. On the website, they look more muted, but on the display, they were definitely bolder and deeper. But anyhow, I thought it was super pretty, and there was nothing else that I really wanted to do today, so this is what happened. I didn't realize until I was in the middle of the tutorial eye that it totally looked like a smokey rainbow look... kind of... if you squint... I'm not really sure if other people would think so, but it's blaringly obvious to me, now that I've noticed it. Mmmhm girl. Rainbows. All day, errday!

Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Tutorial

yo!

So, this tutorial was based on mint chocolate chip ice cream. I had the perfect mint eyeshadow for this, and uh... it's totally been hot outside, and stuff. I totally don't even like chocolate chip ice cream, though... So that's may or may not be a little strange. But this look is really easy, and really spring appropriate, I guess, even though it's totally summer now. A lot of people have been talking about how they love mint for the warmer months, so that's what I'm going with, although I wasn't thinking that when I was doing it. It also makes me think of those tropical island-y places that have that gorgeous greenish water. I wanted this look to seem really sugary, light, fresh, and kind of glowy. I would have preferred a more nude mouth, but... I have no nude lip products, so I had to make do.

Michael Todd True Organics: First Impressions! (Lemon AHA + DMAE Toner)

This is the second part of my Michael Todd First Impressions. The first product I posted about was the Honey and Oat Cleanser, in which I also talk about my skin type and what I used to use. I would recommend reading that first, if just for the additional information about my skincare experiences.

So this is the product:

Lemon AHA + DMAE Toner $18:

Michael Todd True Organics: First Impressions! (Honey and Oat Gentle Deep-Pore Cleanser)

I was resolved to switch up my skincare last week, so I decided to try out two Michael Todd products, I've been using Proactiv since middle school, and I wanted to try something different, and preferably, more natural. Because natural (damn it, why is there no cursive font) is always good, right? Well, for the most part, Proactiv works for me. It keeps the texture of my skin nice and smooth, and it keeps most of the small clusters of little acne that I get at bay. I normally don't get a lot of those annoying tiny blemishes with this regimen, if any, but I do get those big, painful, cystic acne lumps of hell. I'm not really looking for something to be a miracle product in preventing that, as I don't necessarily care about being completely acne free to the extent that a lot of people do. It's nice to have great skin, but I'm definitely not one of those people who just can't bear the thought of someone seeing my face on a bad skin day.

Dirty Joker: Tutorial

I was keeping playing cards in mind when doing this tutorial, and this is the color scheme that comes to my mind. I wanted it to be kinda goth, kinda grungy, or almost dirty looking, and not to be a glamorous look, by any means. When I was doing the liner, I thought, why not add some glitter? And then Vegas was added to the mix, or Mardis Gras, or some kind of festivey-ness. It could also look like somebody's flag, too.... probably. I don't really know lol. There wasn't any concrete inspiration for this look, it was just me keeping things in mind to incorporate. I really like how decorated and gypsy-like this turned out. Not that I know what actual gypsies look like, but it makes me think of Esmeralda. Or, like, the stereotypical fortune teller lady. I'm a total grumpy umpus in this tutorial, which is fabulous, but I tried to cut out as much grumpiness as I could.

DisneySeries: The Lion King

So, this tutorial started off as me trying to recreate this look. However, as you can see, I obviously look nothing like the girl, so I was getting frustrated because it looked way more dramatic on me, and it wasn't looking like a soft, pretty wedding makeup. Then, when I did the underside of the eye, I was like HOLY HELLZ, THIS IS THE LION KING.

Happy accident ~

Pink Racer Tutorial

So, the shape of this look was inspired by the shape of my Crease Liner look, which I absolutely love, if you didn't know, and the colors were kind of inspired when I bought a new L'Oreal Lineur Intense in Carbon Black, and the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Inked in Pink. Though, honestly, I thought Inked in Pink was going to be a much deeper pink than it is, but you know... This look reminds me of a race track, mostly because of the dashed lines, I suppose, and the T-Mobile girl when she turns all motorcycle friendly. I originally was planning on it being more of a deep bubblegum pink, but then I was like no, this needs to be a more badass hot pink. With Glitter.

Tranquil Forests: A Tutorial

This look was inspired by...... you guessed it! Towels! Innocent towels hanging in the bathroom of my sister's house, of whose house I am at a lot. But seriously, they were really pretty together. Though, I didn't intend for the inner portion so be so sparkly and golden... It was supposed to be nude-ish, but I supposed it could be like, the sunlight reflecting off of a lake? Sometime in the afternoon, when it wouldn't be white instead? Yeah, anyway...

Baby Peaches: A Tutorial

So, this looks was inspired by my baby nephew in his green onesie (which, I had to look up how to spell that, because I had no idea). Babies are definitely... Yeah, no, I don't see the charm.
Just kidding!
... am I?

Crease Liner Tutorial!

I did this look for the first time last year, some time. Then, I upgraded my video camera, and decided that I wanted to redo it. However, I made the tiniest little mistake with the crease shape on one eye, and I decided that the first video was good enough. Lol. So I know the video is kind of old to be writing a blog about it, but that doesn't matter... right?

Colorful Eyes and Ombre Lip Tutorial! Plus Makeup Slumps Suck!

So this is a recreation of a look that I found saved file of on my computer. I went and hunted down the original picture, though, it wasn't hard since google has that nifty picture finding function now, so that I could credit the original artist and stuff.

So you can see the picture here, which will take you to Jane Bradley's website, the original makeup artist.  Or here to see it on Pixiwoo's website, and it is the third picture down, since it's easier to find on their website.

And here's my recreation:

Newb!

Hi!

So, I'm totally new at this whole "blogging" business. I've been making YouTube beauty videos, pretty much all are makeup tutorials, for a few years now, and I decided that I would make a blog to accompany it! I'm not sure what exactly I'm going to do with this blog, but I know I'm going to make a blog for every video that I do, with additional pictures or information, and rambles... You know, typical stuff.

I'm also not exactly sure of how to do... anything... Hrm, indeed... But um, yeah, hopefully, I can get this up and going very soon, since I'm uploading a video right now that I would like to post extra pictures for, and I've just filmed another video earlier today.
